Learn Local are not-for-profit community organisations registered and funded by the Adult Community and Further Education Board on behalf of the Victorian Government. There are over 200 Learn Local locations across Melbourne and regional Victoria offering a wide range of low-cost adult education courses.
Learn Local courses are flexible and can be tailored specifically to suit your needs. You can learn in a classroom, online or a bit of both, at the pace that you choose. Class sizes are often small, with training delivered by highly experienced professionals in a relaxed, inclusive and supportive environment.
Learn Locals are friendly and welcoming, with highly capable and professional staff who are focused on helping you to achieve your goals.
Learn Local courses enable you to develop your skills in a wide range of areas, opening up employment and further education possibilities such as a TAFE (or university) qualification and helping you to better connect with your community.
Learn Local have also partnered up with 3 Aboriginal Community-Controlled Organisations (ACCO) to provide Learn Local courses in the following locations:

- Bubup (Thomastown)
Learn Locals strive to offer culturally safe environments by maintaining a respectful partnership with VAEAI (Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc.), who operate through the guidance and support of the local Indigenous communities.
Learn Local offers courses in English Language (LAN), Literacy (LIT), Numeracy (NUM), Employability Skills (EMP), Digital Skills (DLE) and more.
- Language courses build the English language skills of learners for whom English is not their first language.
- Literacy courses support learners to understand, evaluate, use and engage with everyday written texts.
- Numeracy courses support learners to use, apply, interpret and communicate mathematical information in real-life situations.
- Employability courses develop generic skills that are important for gaining employment, progressing within a workplace, engaging in study and/or participating in daily life.
- Digital courses provide adult Victorians with the entry-level digital skills required to make basic use of digital devices and online applications.

Learn Local is available to a broad range of Victorians who are above compulsory school age and who are seeking to gain the educational capacity and core skills they need for study, work and life.
To be eligible to enrol in the pre-accredited training, participants must meet the following conditions:
- 17 and over and not enrolled at school or under 17 and not enrolled at school with exemption
- either an Australian citizen, a holder of an Australian permanent visa, a New Zealand citizen, or an asylum seeker holding a valid visa that confers eligibility for Skills First training under the Asylum Seeker VET program.
Learn Local is a pre-accredited training provider. This means they provide the skills you need for work, study and life. Completing a Learn Local course can provide you with the skills required to go on to further accredited training via TAFE and registered training organisations (RTOs).
Learn Local courses are government-subsidised and are offered at low or no cost to eligible Victorian adults. The course fees you will pay depend on the fees set by your Learn Local. Contact your nearest Learn Local to get all the information you need about course fees and costs.
